This hotel was a great price considering its location.
If you want to stay at a place that's quirky and fun and definitely not your mainstay type hotel then this is it. My son and I stayed for 2 nights in a room with 2 twin beds and a sink. I would definitely recommend booking a room with a sink. Also, request a room with an open window looking onto Water Street as I did. Some of the rooms have their windows facing into the corridors of the hotel.
The beds were really comfortable and although the building isn't insulated against noise, if you wear earplugs which are provided, you won't hear anything.
My son and I just travelled with carry on luggage so space wasn't an issue for us; however, if you travel with suitcases, space will be tight for you.
The bathrooms and showers are shared, but didn't have to wait and they were very clean.
The ceiling fan in our room kept our room very cool.
Fisherman's Wharf, Alcatraz Landing (pier 33) was less than a 10 min walk. The Powell and Mason Streets cable car is just a block away as is the crooked street, Lombard Avenue.
I would stay here again on my next visit. Hope this was helpful.
My family and I, stayed at your hotel from 7/30 to 8/3 in rooms 27, 28 and 70. We had a very nice experience. The location is excellent, near the cable car station and fisherman wharf. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed free coffee, tea, chocolate, water etc... Rooms are small and charming, clean and quiet. Showers are clean. We had a happy time during our stay : a charming hotel and friendly staff. I recommend it.
We were attending a wedding over the weekend and had the pleasure of staying in the St Remo Hotel. Both my wife and I were enthralled with the beauty, warmth and charm of this jewel. Our accommodations were perfect. Everyone we met were friendly and welcoming. The staff offer excellent care and attention to detail. We will recommend the St Remo to our friends. Thank you.
I stayed at the San Remo for 4 nights. The location is great and you can't beat the value! . .
It is within walking distance to the Warf and the Powell & Mason cable car line. Just a bit further away but still a very walkable distance are Pier 39 and Ghirardelli Square. The San Remo has a vibe all it's own. It's very inviting and was immaculately clean!
I stayed here for three nights. One of the best and most unique hotel experiences I've had. Beautiful of-the-era place that is very well-kept and inviting. . .
The staff was always helpful and kind. Free coffee and liquorice. Great jazz coming from the open windows of the italian place downstairs. Though the bathrooms and showers are shared, availability was never an issue.
We stayed here for two nights over Veterans Day weekend. The location cannot be beat. . . . We parked the car and walked or rode the public transportation to see the sights.
The staff was very friendly and accommodating. It was great not having a TV, phone or clock in the room. I could truly relax for our entire stay. We had two rooms, one single and one double. The double room was small with both beds taking up most of the space, but the single bed room was cozy.
I was a little concerned about the shared bath facilities prior to arriving, but that concern was baseless. There was no problem at all...I did not have to wait at any time to use the facilities. I will definitely stay here for my future visits to San Francisco.
