A San Remo Hotel Guest Shares Her Five-Star Story

San Remo Hotel- North Beach San Francisco Hotel¬†Pleasantly Impressed! I would like to start by saying that I am an English woman the wrong side of 55 so I will admit to being set in my ways. I booked this hotel after reading many reviews but I was still concerned about the idea of sharing toilets and showers as this has been outside my general experience of hotels which have all been en suite. But I needn’t have worried, the whole experience was fabulous. There have been many comments about small rooms but the room size was fine and a similar size to a normal European hotel room (I just think that people are generally used to much larger rooms in the states). The showers and toilets were exceptionally clean and guests were provided with all they could possibly need (hot towels, make up removal pads, ear buds, combs, mouthwash etc). The room did not have a/c but the ceiling fan was more than adequate in August and a plug in fan had also been provided if necessary. The beds were really comfortable and the pillows were brand new and equally comfortable. The hotel staff were absolutely brilliant, always on hand for help and advice. The free tea and coffee cart was packed with goodies- hot chocolate, mini marshmallows and even sweets. Altogether a brilliant place to stay and I haven’t even mentioned the location which was first class, within easy walking distance of the bay and all its opportunities but far enough away to be quiet and peaceful at night.
I would highly recommend this fabulous hotel.San Remo Hotel- North Beach San Francisco Hotel

About The San Remo Hotel

For more than 110 years the halls of The San Remo Hotel has seen travelers from all over the globe who come to immerse themselves and get lost in the old-world charm of this historic Victorian Italianate landmark. Built by A.P. Giannini, the founder of Bank of America, in 1906, it was first home to the workers and servicemen who set to work rebuilding the city after the famous 1906 earthquake. Since then it has seen artists who have paid their way with their art, fisherman who need a place to sleep off of their boats for the night, students on their vacation trips, families who are traveling on a budget, and explorers who need only a place to rest their head while seeking out interesting places, new and old.

It is a magical place of history and San Franciscan tradition, and some believe it to be haunted. San Francisco’s best kept secret is nestled and tucked conveniently between North Beach, the Italian part of town, and Fisherman’s Wharf. Telegraph and Russian Hills border it on the East and West. From our Penthouse Suite, on the roof, you can catch a glimpse of the Golden Gate Bridge, Coit Tower, and the rooftops of the many residents of this beautiful city by the bay.

North Beach is truly one of the most beautiful neighborhoods in all of San Francisco and it hosts one of the most beautiful hotels in the bay area. Come be a part of it’s history and travel back to when times were simpler and get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
